Get to Know Bioderma Skincare

Ever wondered what makes Bioderma different to other skincare brands? From their unbeatable micellar waters to their super-healing skin balm, what makes Bioderma so special is their complete dedication to biology and their mission to improve the overall health of our skin, day in and day out.

A French pioneer since the 1970s, Bioderma has acquired unique expertise by placing biology at the service of dermatology. This original scientific approach relies first and foremost on knowledge of the skin and its biological mechanisms to formulate products directly inspired by them.

The Model

All Bioderma research revolves around the study of healthy skin and its cells and imbalances. The skin speaks its own language and Bioderma tirelessly seeks to understand it. It is subject to changes and environmental stresses. Therefore, diseases, medicated treatments, ageing and many other factors may affect its balance and cause it to malfunction. Bioderma’s approach involves reactivating the skin's natural resources to help it resist and recover its normal functions, which are those found in healthy skin.

The Concept

Based on total respect for the skin, Bioderma products imitate its natural biological mechanisms through their components and their modes of action. To formulate them, Bioderma selects the purest active ingredients, using molecules naturally found in the skin for better tolerance. Depending on the malfunction, Bioderma products preserve, activate or restore the skin's natural processes.

The Mission

BIODERMA has always sought to reconcile perfect effectiveness and better tolerance for each skin type and each condition. In order to guarantee the greatest dermatological safety, Bioderma products contain a very limited number of ingredients and optimally dosed active ingredients. Pre-empting the recommendations of the health authorities, Bioderma tends to exclude all dermatologically questionable products. These commitments are reflected in a formulation charter that applies to all product developments and grounds their superiority in a scientific method. This uncompromising approach explains why Bioderma products improve the skin’s tolerance and helps it be less reactive. That is why they all benefit from the DAF (Dermatological Advanced Formulation) patented natural complex.

1. Sensibio Skin Care Range

Sensitive skin expresses itself through sensations of heat and widespread or localized redness. It becomes dehydrated easily and the ensuing dryness auto-maintains its fragility and leads to unpleasant feelings of tightness.

Depending on the cause, severity and stage of sensitivity, Sensibio offers combinations of active ingredients with appropriate textures.

BIODERMA, a pioneer when it comes to micellar water with Sensibio H2O, is now the leader in prescriptions and pharmacies*. Sensibio products are suitable for all sensitive and reactive skin types.

3. Sebium - Oily blemished skin

The skin changes during puberty: it becomes thicker, shiny and less soft. The more or less significant blemishes that appear sometimes continue through to adulthood.

BIODERMA offers a new generation of anti-blemish treatments that directly act on sebum quality thanks to the Fluidactiv® patented complex found in all of the range's products.

Specific Needs ?

  • Skin weakened by drying treatments
  • Acne-prone skin

4. Hydrabio - Dehydrated sensitive skin

Every day, pollution, stress, cold weather, etc. disrupt the skin's cellular activity. It no longer knows how to deeply generate or retain on the surface the water it needs for its natural balance. The skin becomes dehydrated, uncomfortable and more sensitive and loses its radiance.

Found in the full range of Hydrabio products, the Aquagenium® patent stimulates the skin's cellular capacities and reactivates its natural hydration process*.
